Dramatherapy can reach where other Therapies cannot.
Unlike 'talking therapies' Dramatherapy enables the client to engage with their issues at a safe distance by using a story, symbols, metaphor, imagery, characters, puppets or masks etc.
You do not need any experience of drama or theatre to engage with Dramatherapy.
Clients gain a deeper insight & understanding into their own thoughts, identity and creative self. Developing their confidence & awareness of their needs and providing the tools for problem solving & self mastery.

Dramatherapy is a form of clinical psychotherapy & psycho-drama.
"Dramatherapy has as its main focus the intentional use of healing aspects of drama and theatre as the therapeutic process. It is a method of working and playing that uses action methods to facilitate creativity, imagination, learning, insight and growth."
Badth - British Association of Dramatherapists.
Drama and Theatre pre-date the written word. Andrea believes in using her knowledge and experience to facilitate inclusivity and diversity and has worked successfully with verbal and non verbal clients. She believes in 'Show me' if you struggle to 'Tell me'.
Just as a play has a beginning - middle - end. So will your session...
You would not go to the theatre without knowing the start time of the play, if it had an interval and when will it end?
We like to work with this reassuring structure.
Beginning = open space for you to arrive, check in and name anything in particular you want to 'bring' to your session. Share any reflections from your last session.
Middle = creative enactment where you will be invited to engage with your theme/topic & explore creatively through utilising possible metaphor, story, images, objects or characters etc.
End = Closure & reflection utilising the reflective space observing any emotional changes & experiences during enactement. Reflecting on positives to take away from your dramatherapy session, also including de-role.
